Cool waves of the sea, local cuisine, temples and memorable experiences… the story of my Tamil Nadu coastal trip.
As soon as I hear the name Tamil Nadu, I imagine the cool waves of the sea, the shade of coconut trees, colorful temples and small coastal villages. Recently, I had my most memorable journey on a coastal road trip in Tamil Nadu. This journey was not just an experience of sightseeing for me, but also a discovery of small pleasures of life and local experiences .
Chennai: The beginning of the journey and the first glimpse

Our journey started from Chennai. As soon as I stepped into Chennai, I felt the cool breeze of the sea. Our first destination was Marina Beach , which was a truly heart-touching experience for me. I will remember the morning walk and the view of the sunset there for a long time.
I saw people jogging and doing yoga in the morning at the Marina Beach. I also did a little jogging and stretching among them, and honestly, it was the most beautiful way to start my day.
Tip: Enjoy auto rickshaws for a local experience in Chennai, and if you want to do a photoshoot then go during sunrise or sunset.
Mahabalipuram: A confluence of ancient art and the sea

Mahabalipuram is located about 60 km from Chennai. This place is famous for its magnificent rocks and ancient temples . I first saw the carvings of the Shore Temple and the statues of the five chariots . I was really amazed at how people created this art with such precision thousands of years ago.
The beach of Mahabalipuram is also very beautiful. I enjoyed refreshing coconut water there and kept walking amidst the waves of the sea. This experience was absolutely peaceful for me.
Tip: Always keep your shoes with you when walking on the beach and pack a light snack.
Puducherry: French Colony and Comfort

After Mahabalipuram, we headed towards Puducherry. Seeing the streets of the French Colony here , I felt as if I was roaming in a European city. I often cycled on the Corniche Road , and sat on the beach, watching the waves of the sea and enjoying French pastries .

It was a really different experience to spend time in small cafes and coffee shops in the local markets of Puducherry. I had refreshing tea and cream rolls from there and shared the photos on Instagram.
Tip: If you like sharing on social media, photos taken early in the morning and at sunset tend to be the best .
Chidambaram and Coastal Villages: Experiencing the Local Culture

Experiencing the local culture was also important in our trip. The small coastal villages near Chidambaram were very beautiful and peaceful. The fishermen there are seen casting their nets early in the morning and it was a memorable experience for me to see their hard work and lifestyle.
I tasted the local fish and sea cuisine there. Especially the fresh grilled fish and coconut chutney was a completely new experience for me. I also captured this local foodie experience in Insta reel.
Tip: Share your experiences in small villages on social media, but respect people’s privacy.
Rameswaram: The Spiritual Experience

Rameswaram was the most spiritual part of my trip. The Ramanathaswamy temple and the surrounding sea shore here calmed me from within. I walked on the sea shore early in the morning, meditated and visited the temple.
This experience made me realize that travelling is not just for the sake of sightseeing, but it is also important for peace of mind and spiritual satisfaction .
Tip: If you are creating spiritual content then you can post peaceful pictures and videos of temples and beaches on your social media.
Kovalam and Kanaikulam: White sand and sea beauty

The last stop of our coastal trip was Kovalam and Kanikulam. The experience of white sand and clear sea here was really amazing. I took photos while walking there during sunset .
Bought fresh fruits, seaweeds and handicrafts at the local markets in Kovalam . I also shared my experience and haul video on YouTube.
Tip: If you are a travel blogger then making videos of small beach stalls and local items is very engaging.
Learnings and experiences from the journey

There are several important things I learned from my trip:
- The little things in travel create big memories.
- The local culture and lifestyle make the experience even richer.
- The confluence of sea, nature and temples refreshes the heart and mind.
- Sharing experiences on social media keeps travel memories fresh forever.
